This is the sixth edition of Who Pays What 2014, the most comprehensive analysis of empty beverage container collection and costs in Canada. You can download the whole thing (27.6MB!) or individual parts below.
This year we’ve tried something new. In addition to being downloadable and viewable in full-colour PDF format, we’ve summarized the report using PREZI, an engaging online presentation platform. The following short audio-visual presentation highlights the report’s main findings, including national and provincial collection rates for refillable beer containers, non-refillable containers as a whole, and by material type (i.e., aluminum, PET, non-refillable glass). It also offers some considerations for the future of beverage container recycling and reuse in Canada, including measures to prevent deposit fraud and increase system cost efficiencies. So sit back, relax, and learn all you need to know about Canada’s beverage container collection and recycling programs.
